Abstrakt:

Wat Nakorn-In Bridge is only one part of a larger project aimed at solving the traffic congestion problem on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in the Greater Bangkok Area (GBA). The Bridge crosses the Chao Phraya River and is located approximately midway between the Rama VIII Bridge and the Nonthaburi Bridge in Nonthaburi Province. The viaduct is 12 km long, connecting the Outer Ring Road and Tiwanon Road, and is designed as an elevated structure but is partially on the ground roadway. The project starts from Bang Bua Thong - Nonthaburi Road at Soi Sukhaphiban 1 intersection to Tiwanon Road at Pracharat Road intersection. The project consists of the Wat Nakorn-In Bridge, two interchanges at both ends, two minor bridges, and the road link between the two interchanges. The project was implemented by the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Ministry of the Interior. The feasibility study and investigation for the detailed design load was originally carried out in 1993. A survey for land acquisition was done between 1992-1996 and compensation was paid prior to construction in 1999. The Contract EW-1 commenced in November 1999 and the scheduled completion date was April 2002. The bridge and road part of the project are completed and will be in commission once the peripheral related projects are ready.
