Zwolle Cable-Stayed Bridge, The Netherlands

The Zwolle Bridge between Stadshagen and Zwolle is an asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge with a single main span of 56 m and a continuous east approach span of 25 m. To improve the stability of the asymmetrical cable-stayed superstructure, the weight of the main span is counter-balanced by the backward inclination of the pylons. This combines structural efficiency and aesthetics.
